Jamshedpur, Dec 20: JUSCO School South Park (JSSP) organised 19th Annual Sports Day for the Senior School at the JUSCO School Science Park ground. Approximately 1000 students, ranging from Std IV to Std XII, enthusiastically participated in a variety of track events and drills.
Hemant Gupta, Head Adventure Programme and Sports Academies at Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. During his address, he encouraged students to dedicate at least 30 minutes to sports activities daily, emphasizing the long-term benefits. A.F. Madon, Administrator of JEM Foundation, was also present as the special guest.
School Principal Mili Sinha expressed gratitude to parents, staff, and students for their enthusiastic contributions, making the Sports Day a resounding success and a memorable experience.
The event commenced with a majestic march past featuring students from Std IX & XI, representing the school’s five houses based on the concept of Panch Tatva – Agni, Prithvi, Vayu, Jal, and Akash. Colorful drill displays by Std IV to VI students followed.
Fun races engaged students from Std IV to VI, while track events involved students from Std VII to XII. The Chief Guest honored outstanding achievers in various sports categories such as Cricket, Taekwondo, Archery, Yoga, Table Tennis, and Chess.
Vayu House emerged as the overall champion, and Agni House received the Best March Past trophy.
The Best Athletes in various segments were-Senior Secondary (Boys) – Aditya Kumar Singh, Senior Secondary (Girls) – Sweta Kumari, Junior (Boys) – Nikhil Mittal, Junior (Girls) – Babalpreet Kaur & Ritika Kundu, Sub Junior (Boys) – Rajveer Mahato and Sub Junior (Girls) – Palak Kumari.
