Jamshedpur: JUSCO launched a drive to clean various drains of the city on Thursday. Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, and the City Managers of the civic body paid an inspection visit to the various cleaning sites. Kumar said the cleaning of most of the drains had started and would be completed soon. He said the JNAC was also cleaning drains in its area with the view to prevent their clogging during heavy rains.
The JNAC Special Officer had recently written to Tata Steel and JUSCO officials asking them to ensure cleaning of 56 major drains and nullahs in the city to prevent waterlogging problem during rains. He said the drains in Mehulbera, Sunsungariya, Sitaramdera, Patelnagar, Bhalubasa, Nehrunagar, Punjabi Bag and Refugee Colony would soon be cleaned.
