Jamsedpur, August 28: In a recent meeting at the JBVNL office, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy called for equity in electricity subsidies between JVBNL and Jusco areas. Roy urged that Jusco consumers should receive the same 200-unit subsidy currently granted to JVBNL customers.
The meeting, led by JBVNL General Manager VP Singh, also addressed pressing issues related to electricity provision in the Telco Azad Market. VP Singh assured that Jusco is prepared to extend electricity services, with network installation set to commence based on feasibility assessments.
VP Singh updated attendees on ongoing and upcoming projects, including a High Court hearing on August 29 regarding electricity distribution to every house in the Cable Town area. The Chhayanagar substation is expected to open within a week, and the Bagunahatu substation will be operational by September 15. Additionally, construction and installation work for the Moharda area is scheduled for completion by the end of September.
Regarding Bhaktinagar in Burmamines, Singh reported that the Jusco network is complete, allowing residents to apply for new electricity connections. The construction of substations for Anandnagar, Vikas Colony, and Namda Basti will begin soon. Singh also mentioned that surveys for new networks in Bhuiyandih, Gwala Basti, Babudih, Lalbhatta, Shantinagar, Kanubhatta, and Chhai Basti are underway.
For Baridih Basti, Bagunnagar D Block, and TOP Maidan, Singh confirmed that substation sites have been selected and feasibility surveys for LT networks will commence in October. He noted that locations like Laxminagar, Bajrangibagh, Jhagdu Bagan, Jamco, and Mishra Bagan are in the final stages of site selection for new substations.
MLA Saryu Roy also instructed JBVNL’s GM to address issues with exposed electricity wires and bamboo poles over houses. New transformers will be installed by October, and repairs to overhead wires will be carried out under the RDSS scheme.
