Jamshedpur : The approach road to second Kharkai bridge will be constructed by December 30. Jusco has assured SDO Prem Ranjan that the road will be constructed soon. Jan Kalyan Morcha has called off its maha dharna. The NGO had called a “maha dharna” at the Bistupur end of the bridge from December 13.
JKM president, Om Prakash said that the second Kharkai bridge should have been made operational by November -2012 in accordance with the assurance given by the PWD-Road Construction and the executing agency, but despite lapse of over one year, the approach road work could not be completed as yet.
He said that SDO has informed them about the progress and they have decided to called off. From now onward, the work at the approach road will be carried out in war-footing so as to get the work completed the road before the December 30.
The NGO, Jan Kaylan Morcha (JKM) had been pressing the administration to complete the construction of the approach road. Encouraged by the JKM, a section of the Adityapur residents had threatened that they would stage a dharna on the new bridge if the approach road does not complete by December.
