Jamshedpur, Dec 6: Carmel Junior College, Jamshedpur celebrated its 25th Annual Sports Meet with great enthusiasm on 6 December 2025 at the Carmel Bal Vihar Grounds, Sonari.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Rabindra Kumar Singh, General Manager, Town Operations & Maintenance, Tata Steel UISL, along with School Manager Sister Jyothi D’Souza, Principal Sister Sharel and Vice Principal Sister Amala Rani. Balloons were released to commemorate 25 years of the school’s sports tradition.

Forty-four students who had represented the school at state and national levels carried the ceremonial torch. The opening ceremony featured an impressive March Past by the four squads—Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune—led by the Head Boy and Head Girl, followed by an oath-taking ceremony.

Students added colour to the occasion with themed drill performances, including “Mickey Mouse Wiggle Time,” “Carnival of Champions,” yoga-based “Rhythms of Resilience,” a Hapkido self-defence display and a robotics-inspired “Tech Bots-25” drill. Various track and field events kept the day lively.

Jupiter Squad emerged Overall Champion, Uranus was Runner-up and Neptune won Best March Past. Kapish Bhupati and Sneha Garg were adjudged Best Athletes.

Guest of Honour and alumnus Sourav Mahato attended the closing ceremony, which concluded with the school flag lowering, School Song and National Anthem.
