Fire Breaks Out at Junction Express Restaurant in Jamshedpur, Swift Action Averts Major Mishap

Jamshedpur: A fire broke out at the Junction Express restaurant located on Kalimati Road in Sakchi, Jamshedpur, on Friday morning, triggering panic in the area. The blaze was reported around 9:30 a.m. after passersby noticed smoke billowing from the restaurant’s chimney and immediately alerted the fire department.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot, including one from Tata Steel and another from the Jharkhand Fire Services. Firefighters acted swiftly to bring the flames under control and prevent the fire from spreading, averting a major mishap.

According to fire officials, the restaurant’s shutter was closed when they arrived. After opening it, flames were seen rising from a fryer pan inside the kitchen. The fire had intensified within a short span, but prompt action by firefighters helped contain the situation.

Eyewitness Inderpal Singh said there had been a power outage in the area since around 2:30 a.m. Electricity supply was restored shortly after 9:30 a.m., following which smoke was suddenly seen coming out of the restaurant. Authorities suspect the fire may have been triggered due to a technical fault after power was restored, though the exact cause is under investigation. The extent of damage caused by the incident is yet to be assessed.
