Jamshedpur: The Jugsalai Nagar Parishad today organised a vibrant Tiranga Concert and Tiranga Mela at its office premises under the “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta” campaign. The event aimed to promote “Vocal for Local” by encouraging the use of locally made, eco-friendly tricolour flags, discouraging plastic flags and ensuring adherence to the Flag Code of India, 2002.

The programme was graced by chief guests Shailendra Singh (ex-serviceman), Sushil Kumar Singh (Ex-PETI Navy Officer) and Kundan Singh (Ex-Sergeant, Indian Air Force). Children presented cultural performances including music, dance, a “Best Out of Waste” exhibition, speeches and a cleanliness-themed mimic act by Deepak Mishra.

At the Tiranga Mela, women from self-help groups showcased handmade tricolours, paper art flags, yarn-based rakhis and tricolour designs made from household grains. Colourful rangoli created by SHG women added to the festive spirit.

“The initiative highlights our responsibility to protect the environment while celebrating national pride,” said a Nagar Parishad official.

The event saw active participation from Nagar Parishad staff, students from Amy School, Balak Madhya Vidyalaya, R.P. Patel School, Bal Bharati School, SHG members and Swachhta brand ambassadors.
