Jamshedpur, Jan 13: in pursuance of the programme, Swachh Bharat Mission, the Jugsalai Municipality, under Executive Officer JP Yadav, conducted an evaluation of cleanliness drives by Residential Welfare Society and Market Committee based on which ranking was given.
The evaluation of Swachh ranking was done as per the guideline of Swachh Sarvekshan – 2022, that stipulated segregation of wastes in the forms of wet, dry, domestic hazardous sanitary waste, wet waste and disposal system, stain free walls of the premises, cleaning and beautification steps under the 3R (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse) initiative, including utensil banks to reduce thermacol and plastic wastes, and cloth banks to recycle unused clothes, cloth and jute, provision of separate toilets for employees and visitors and provision of hand-wash, dustbin, light, water, display of notices related to plastic ban, and compliance with the instructions issued for the prevention of COVID- 19 like thermal scanners , arrangement of sanitizers, separate arrangements for keeping biomedical wastes like gloves, and masks and survey related awareness like information about Swachh Sarvekshan – 2022 and information related to Swachhta Mahua App.
In the rankings provided after inspection, the first place went to Shiva Residency (Clean and green campus, activities related to waste water recycling, wet waste processing, beautification, fountain and plastic waste related awareness program), second to Krishna Janaki Apartment (Planting saplings in bottles, buckets, paint boxes under “3R” principal, information about cleanliness survey and organizing cleanliness programs), third spot to Mahavir Enclave (cleanliness of premises, information about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to people), fourth place to Jamuna Apartment (Green campus, sanitizer and thermal scanner for COPVID prevention), while the fifth and sixth rankings were given to Urmila Apartment and Somnath Apartment respectively.
City Manager Rajendra Kumar, Sanitation Supervisor Manjit Kumar, Sunny Kumar were among those who were present on the occasion. The Jugsalai Municipality conducted special cleanliness drives at Kharkai River’s Shiv Ghat in view of Makar Sankranti and Tusu festivals.
