Jamshedpur, Feb. 24: The Steel City is being decked up to pay tributes to its founder Jamsteji Nusserwanji Tata on his 179th birth anniversary on March 3. The theme this year is Imagimax -Imagining to the Maximum.
It commemorates the vision of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata after whom the steel city took its name nearly a century ago.

The entire Jubilee Park, including the Jayanti Sarovar and Upvan, has been decked up for the week-long festivities. With the Tata Steel owned Jamshedpur FC playing their debut season at the Indian Super League (ISL), the logo of the club along with some of the greatest football players will be the centre of attraction at the lighting inside the park. Different decorative lights have also been installed to give a new look to the founders day celebration.

The gates of Jubilee Park have been closed for vehicular traffic from February 15 to March 7. Founders Day was first instituted by Tata Steel on March 3, 1932. It was D N Madan, Chief Accountant, Tata Iron and Steel Company, who first conceived the idea of observing and celebrating an annual gathering to commemorate the birth anniversary of J.N. Tata.
