Jubilation rules Steel City as BJP activists celebrate Kovind�s victory

Jamshedpur, July 20: The district Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated the victory of NDA candidate Ramnath Kovind in the Presidential election here on Thursday. Party workers gathered in front of Sakchi office and raised pro-BJP slogans. They also burst fire crackers and distributed sweets to the public.

The activists distributed sweets and smeared vermilion on each other faces and broke into dancing to the beat of drums after a clear trend emerged that the BJP was headed for a victory.

The office of BJP was gripped with celebrations as party activists hit streets and distributed sweets to people while raising victory cries with party supporters.

District president Dinesh Kumar said that the victory of BJP candidate only goes to show that the voters have faith. He said that the idea must be to associate with the workers and spread party�s vision in the State. �It is important to work with utmost commitment to live up to the expectation of the people of Jharkhand. It is time party people must wake up,� he noted.

Even before the results were declared, people offered prayers and peformed yagnas and havans seeking victory for Kovind. Special prayers were held at the temple.

Showering praises on Kovind, another BJP leader said, �He is very generous and has worked for the betterment of the people of the village with his funds. Kovind did not like falsehoods and lies during his school life and always spoke the truth,� he said.

BJP�s Scheduled Caste Morcha members celebrated Kovind�s election as the 14th President by paying homage to Dr BR Ambedkar. They dedicated the day to the Father of the Constitution and attributed Kovind�s success in the election to the all-out effort put in by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

Among those present during the celebrations included Chandrashekhar Mishra, Arun Kumar Mishra, Deepak Jha, Pappu Mishra, Ajit Kalindi, Ram Mukhi, Munna Ram and Vikas Mahanand.
