Jubilation rules Steel City as Congress activists celebrate Assembly election success

Jamshedpur : Jubilation ruled the Steel City as Congress activists celebrated their victory in three Assembly polls at Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Party activists distributed sweets and smeared vermilion on each other’s faces and broke into dancing to the beat of drums after a clear trend emerged that the Congressswas headed for a major victory.

The office of Congress at Bistupur was gripped with celebrations as party activists hit streets and distributed sweets to people. They shouted ‘Rahul Gandhi zindabad’ and ‘Congress zindabad’. There was a similar scene at Congress Banna Gupta�s office.

�It�s a historic moment for us and we want to thank Rahul Gandhi for his good guidance that resulted to overwhelming victory. We want to celebrate every moment of it,� said former MLA Banna Gupta.

He went on to add that the charisma of Rahul Gandhi did wonders for the party. The people had embraced the development programmes of the party. Congress has promised not only strengthened the state’s educational and health sectors but also brought peace and tranquility in the State.

Bijay Khan, district Congress president said that it is clear that people have voted for development and not for caste. He said that the result of Assembly elections only goes to show that only Congress rule can provide development and progress to the people.

�The outcome of the elections also proves beyond doubt that it was a victory for development and for the people of the State. We are happy and the both parties will maintain the progress work, noted the president.

�Election results are a blow to BJP that had ruled the States earlier and strived to regain power. They wanted due share and avail an opportunity but the results have led to a debacle,� said a leader of Congress party.

Meanwhile, a BJP leader on the condition of anonymity said that law and order in the State deteriorated under NDA regime. He also said that the magic of Modi failed to work in Bihar.
