JSCA stripped away the rights of districts: Jeetu Patel

Jamshedpur, July 13: As the time nears for the most awaited annual general meeting of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) at Deoghar, the opposition also seems to be gearing and has started throwing up tantrums.

Former Ranji cricketer Jittu Patel has accused JSCA president Amitabh Choudhary of stripping the rights of the districts.

President Choudhary has announced the AGM at Deoghar but asked if the JSCA supremo about the number of members of the district who are members of JSCA.

As promised in an earlier Annual General Meeting at Jamshedpur in August 15, 2004, from each district 20 members were to be inducted into the committee; but the association has failed to do so. Charging with nepotism, he added that Choudhary has instead absorbed friends & family members into the committee.

One family has even 10 members powering the committee. Today President of the District Cricket Association of Deoghar, Vijay Jha will reveal how many members form his district has been inducted into the associations committee.

Patel said that this is the first time that the JSCA is organizing AGM (Annual General Meeting) in the Santhal Paragana which consists of 6 districts viz Deoghar, Pakur, Sahebganj, Dumka, Jamtara and Godda.

As per the rules there must be a total of 120 members from these six districts, but currently less than 50 members have been given membership.

The former cricketer added that JSCA Supremo is not abiding by the law & is steering the group into his own direction.

As per the new amendment, fromer or current members of the administrative council can only become the President or the secretary. He also said that Choudhary is malignating the name of JSCA by dictating the body.
