Jamshedpur, Sep 3: Hansda Star booked their place in the A Division final with an impressive 3-1 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club at Armoury Ground. Mohammedan started brightly as Aman Kumar netted in the 4th minute, but Hansda Star quickly turned the tide. Joseph Murmu struck twice in succession to give his side the lead, before Nayki Marandi added a third goal before halftime. The second half saw Hansda Star defend resolutely, denying Mohammedan any chance of a comeback. With this win, Hansda Star advanced to the final scheduled for September 7, where they will face the winner of the second semi-final between Urban Services and Smile Club. Both finalists will earn promotion to the Super Division.
Jharkhand Sporting Club beat Classic Eight 4-2
Jharkhand Sporting Club (JSC) outclassed Classic Eight Football Club (NSC) Narwa 4-2 in their Premier Division clash at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Wednesday. Sunil Munda opened the scoring for Classic Eight in the 57th minute, but Sukhlal Hembram quickly equalized. Ajit Tirkey then took charge, scoring twice in the 67th and 88th minutes to give JSC a commanding lead. Mongla Hansdah added a fourth in the 90th minute. Though Gaurav Mukhi reduced the deficit deep into stoppage time, JSC sealed a deserved victory.
Classic Eight and Manbhum FC share points
In the Super Division, Classic Eight and Manbhum FC played out a 1-1 draw at Tinplate Sports Complex. Bikram Hansda scored for Classic Eight in the 39th minute, but Manbhum responded swiftly after halftime with an equalizer from Akhil Murmu in the 48th minute. Both sides had chances to grab the winner, but strong defending and missed opportunities kept the scoreline unchanged. Classic Eight picked up three yellow cards, while Manbhum maintained a clean record.
