Jamshedpur: The dance group of Jamshedpur Public School (JPS) attended the 26th All India Theatre Olympiad held at Cuttack, from 1st to 8th September 2018.
School’s classical dance group comprising Riti Singh, Ashree Dubey, Nirjala, Vaishnavi, Shobhna Das and Arpita won the 1st Prize in kathak.
In the modern solo category Dipanshu Das of JPS won the 1st Prize. The dance teacher Bharti Banerjee was awarded the ‘Nritya Garima award’ in this Olympiad. These students have been selected for the International Dance Festival to be held in December 2018 at Thailand.
The annual International Theatre Festival (Drama, Dance & Music ) is only of its kind in the country and this year it was held from 1st. to 10th. September, 2018, said Namita Agarwal, Principal, Jamshedpur Public School.
