Jamshedpur, Sept. 16 : Buoyed over the success of job mela organised at Golmuri government employment exchange, the Labour, Employment and Training Department has decided to take similar initiative jobs on the spot to the jobless youth and reduce unemployment. The fair is scheduled at Golmuri on Septmeber 19 and 20. About companies 26 will offer jobs for 300 posts.
“The idea behind organising fair is because of the industrial background and presence of commercial organisations in good strength. We are happy to see the innovative step being taken to reduce unemployment rate in the district. I think more such steps need to be taken. If private companies can do why not Government,” informed an officer.
Private companies ranging from insurance, auto sector, health and security interviewed the applicants for the non executive jobs. The organisers are hopeful those unemployed youths who have no proper academic qualification or any job skill along with those for those who have better academic qualification and job skills would get opportunity to be placed.
It may be mentioned that the under the guidance of State Government, a job mela was organised last year. Several unskilled and untrained unemployed youths appeared for interview to a host of private limited companies including Tata Motors and Tinplate.
Unemployed youths including girls from different towns of the Jharkhand particularly, Chaibasa, Ghatsila, Ranchi, Chakradharpur and Bokaro are expected to turn up for the two-day fair.
