JNAC to remove hoardings from private buildings

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee is going to launch a campaign to remove illegal commercial hoardings mounted on private buildings across the city. Such hoardings, which have been installed without the permission of JNAC authorities, would be removed, said Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer of JNAC.

Kumar said only the JNAC could give permission for installing hoardings on buildings for commercial purpose. He said it had come to the knowledge of JNAC that several corporate houses were also issuing permission for hoarding installation on their own by charging advertisement fee. This is causing a revenue loss to the tune of several crores to the JNAC, he said.

Kumar said the illegal hoardings not only affect the citys general cleanliness and beauty but also give rise to accidents.

The JNAC has planned the drive to remove hoardings in three phases within a year.
