Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has set the ball rolling to formulate rules for the maintenance and use of community buildings across the city. All community buildings would be run in strict compliance with the rules laid down by the JNAC to ensure uniformity and proper utilization of public utility structures, said Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, JNAC, on Wednesday.
Kumar said the JNAC had dedicated several dozen community buildings to the city people. But during inspection visits, it was found that many such community buildings are either closed or are being used for commercial activities. At some places, the public utility buildings are also being allegedly rented out by certain people without permission, said Kumar.
Kumar said very soon all such public buildings will be assigned numbers by the JNAC. The JNAC is also planning to collect some fee from the managers of these buildings to enhance its revenue.
