JNAC to launch drain cleaning campaign

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has planned an intensive drive to clean drains across the city over the next 10 days. Special Officer Sanjay Kumar issued a directive to all Swachhata inspectors of JNAC today in this regard.

Local companies have also been asked to ensure cleaning of all major drains coming out of their plants and passing through residential areas. Kumar said there are several private companies who had not got their drains cleaned even after being served notice and reminders. A last memorandum would be given to such companies after which strict action would be taken against them, he said.

Kumar appealed to the city residents to abstain from throwing solid and plastic waste in drains as it leads to difficulty in cleaning and rise in expenses involved.
