Pet Dog Registration on Cards to Boost Civic Funds

Jamshedpur, Feb 10: A key review meeting on the current status of internal revenue collection was held under the chairmanship of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of revenue collection across various heads.
The Deputy Municipal Commissioner directed concerned officials to take focused measures to significantly improve revenue from sairat and market fees, noting that these segments hold substantial potential to strengthen the civic body’s income if utilised effectively.
The meeting also reviewed the status of registration of hotels and lodges operating within the municipal area.
Krishna Kumar instructed officials to launch a special registration drive at the earliest in accordance with the provisions of the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2011, to ensure all establishments are legally registered and revenue leakage is prevented.
Officials further informed that JNAC will soon initiate the registration process for pet dogs. The move is aimed not only at augmenting revenue but also at strengthening urban sanitation and public health management.
Emphasising revenue mobilisation as a top priority, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner directed all departments to ensure planned and sustained action to achieve the prescribed collection targets
