Jamshedpur: In a recent gathering led by Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri, the JNAC Parking Committee delved into crucial aspects of the city’s parking system. Emphasizing the need for systematic parking to enhance traffic flow and reduce encroachment, the committee discussed various measures.
One notable decision was the implementation of electronic parking slips equipped with bar codes, QR codes, and serial numbers to ensure transparency and prevent irregularities. The District Magistrate also proposed charging separately for additional hours beyond a two-hour validity period and issuing day-long parking passes. However, certain congested areas will not offer full-day passes to avoid hindrance in traffic.
To maintain discipline among parking staff and foster a smooth interaction with the public, a mandatory dress code and identity card system were introduced. Strict instructions were issued against indiscipline, unauthorized parking, and collecting fees beyond the fixed amount.
Present at the meeting were key officials including ADM Law and Order, JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner, District Public Relations Officer, DSP Traffic, and representatives from relevant MLAs. The District Magistrate urged prompt initiation of the parking tender process to streamline the city’s parking system.
