Jamshedpur: One of the urban bodies of the city, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, will be supplying electricity and water to the various bustees of the city on the lines of Ranchi Municipal Corporation.
The Secretary of the Urban development Ajay Kumar has issued an order in this connection. Copies of the order have been sent to the deputy commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum Dr Amitabh Kaushal and MLA of Jamshedpur East Raghuvar Das. The letter was originally addressed to the special officer of JNAC.
The working committee of Ranchi Municipal Corporation had decided that water supply will be made to the bustees set up on government land. The Corporation has prepared rules in this regard.
Speaking to scribes, the BJP MLA said he had requested the Secretary of urban development department asking him to issue orders to Tata Steel to supply electricity and water to the bustees of the city.
He said JNAC has been ordered to supply water to the bustees irrespective of their legal status. Facilitation fee will be charged on the subscribers seeking water connection. Every house owner will have to furnish an affidavit stating that they are living peacefully in their house and that they have no land dispute with anyone.
