JNAC special officer travels in city bus to test quality of service

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) special officer Sanjay Kumar here on Saturday travelled in a city bus with the view to find out the quality of transportation services being rendered to the common man.

Around 5.15 pm, Kumar got tickets for a Bistupur bound bus near Sakchi roundabout and stood for some time to get a berth. At the next stop, he got a seat finally. He got down near Chhappan Bhog at Bistupur. He was accompanied by an officer of JNAC during the short journey.

Sharing his experience, Kumar said he had received feedbacks from co-passengers of the bus. He also came to know about the behavior of the bus driver and conductor. He said there was no dearth of passengers in the city buses. The only thing needed is some positive attempts to improve the services, he said, adding that steps would be taken after Chhath Puja to improve city bus services.

Kumar also inspected the bus depot near Town Hall. He directed the assistant engineer of the mechanical department, Shailesh Kumar, to prepare an estimate to get the city buses lying useless repaired.
