JNAC sets March 31 deadline for water harvesting setup

Jamshedpur: Rainwater harvesting has been made mandatory in buildings having a base area of more than 300 square metre under the Jharkhand Rainwater Harvesting Rules 2017. For buildings having a lesser base area, the facility is optional, but not mandatory. Jharkhand High Court has already made it mandatory for all government offices to have rainwater harvesting mechanism on their premises. This was informed here on Friday by the special officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Sanjay Kumar who has asked all those coming under the purview of the said Rules to ensure water harvesting system on their premises by 31st March 2018.
