Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has taken the first step forward to make Jamshedpur a cow dung-free city. It has entrusted M/S RK Construction and M/S Ojha Construction with the job of collecting cow dung from across the city.
According to Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, JNAC, numerous complaints were received from citizens against cowshed and dairy farm owners spreading cow dung and other waste material in their areas. The JNAC had earlier planned to remove the cowsheds and dairy farms from the city. But later, it decided to entrust some agency with the task of daily disposal of cow dung, said Kumar.
Sources said the agencies collecting cow dung will be paid some fixed monthly amount for their services by the cowshed and dairy farm owners. A nominal fee will have to be paid by the agencies to JNAC, sources said.
Kumar said the cow dung collection will be started from 15th September. He said the city would soon be relieved from the problem of mosquitoes and unhygienic conditions.
