Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee is going to initiate strict action against various telecom companies laying underground cables in the city without permission. It is also going to levy fine on such companies.
According to Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, JNAC, complaints have been received against several companies laying underground cable in different parts of the city without taking permission from the JNAC. Action will be taken against such companies who lay cables without paying the mandatory fees required for taking permission, he said.
JNAC sources said the companies installing mobile towers generally get permission under a single window system at state level. But before installing the towers, deposition of fees with the local municipal body is must, they said.
Kumar said the staff of a company were caught laying cables without permission in Dhatkidih. The company officials have been given 24 hours time to submit the documents, he said.
