JNAC plans action against road digging

Jamshedpur: In a bid to protect city roads from damage, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has decided to prosecute those engaged in unauthorized digging or cutting roads for laying or mending underground pipes or cables. Special Officer Sanjay Kumar said only those agencies would be allowed to cut or dig roads who deposit the due fees and take permission from the JNAC. After completing their work, the agencies concerned will have to level the roads and also restore them to their original condition, said Kumar.
Kuma said efforts are on to integrate the online application mechanism for obtaining permission to dig roads with the single window system of Government of Jharkhand.
