Jamshedpur, July 20: With the four fresh deaths taking place on Monday, the total number of Covid deaths in East Singhbhum district rose to 11 and at the Tata Main Hospital to 14 as three Covid patients who were from outside the district were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, concerned over the situation, the administration has sealed the offices of the two civic bodies on Monday after sending most of the staff of these offices to home quarantine. Positive cases were found in Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) office as well as Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) on Sunday night.

With the civic bodies’ staff quarantined, the work of body disposal which is carried out by the JNAC has become a tough task. With Monsoon rain in full bloom, threat of water-borne diseases is also looming large.
” It is becoming challenging for us. As our field workers are getting the bodies disposed of under the supervision of City Manager, Ravi Bharti at the Subarnarekha crematorium. Though Bharti is also an office staff, he has been kept off from the quarantine as he is apparently healthy as of now,” said an official of JNAC.
