JNAC conducts major crackdown on encroachments in Jamshedpur’s Bistupur, building violations, illegal cattle sheds

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur: Acting on directions from Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar and led by Special Officer Tarnish Kumar Hans, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment operation across Bistupur Main Road, Khau Gali, Voltas Circle and Bistupur Garage Line. The enforcement team collected Rs 29,900 in fines from violators. Another team conducted a drive near Ramada Hotel in Ramdas Bhatta, issuing strict warnings to unauthorized cattle sheds and ordering an immediate halt to illegal activities.

A third team inspected building-standard compliance and parking management at T-K Complex and Dream Heights. At T-K Complex, inspectors found that basement parking was not being used. The management was instructed to activate the facility immediately and appoint dedicated parking personnel. At Dream Heights, the team noted excess shops beyond approved limits, unauthorized extensions reducing parking space and a locked parking gate restricting public access. The management was ordered to reopen the gate and restore the building to approved norms. An on-the-spot fine of Rs 25,000 was imposed.

JNAC stated that the ongoing campaign will continue across the city to curb encroachments, illegal cattle sheds and violations of building and parking rules, urging citizens, businesses and property managers to comply with regulations.

Youth Congress accuses JNAC of bias in anti-encroachment drive

Jamshedpur, Nov 25: Jharkhand Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary Rakesh Sahu has accused the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) of discriminatory action during its ongoing anti-encroachment drive. In a press statement, Sahu alleged that the administration is targeting “only poor and middle-class families,” while ignoring violations by “large buildings, hotels and commercial establishments.” According to him, several hotels illegally convert public roads into parking zones, forcing long queues of vehicles and frequent traffic jams. “Is the High Court order meant only for slum dwellers and small shopkeepers?” he asked. Sahu said that if the administration is genuinely committed to making the city encroachment-free, it should begin by clearing major encroachments within one kilometre of its own office. While welcoming the JNAC’s efforts, he stressed that “law must be equal for everyone” and that enforcement must be free from bias or selective action.

  1. All DC enjoying their posting at Jamshedpur. No body is serious to check encroachments in Bistupur Sakchi Kadma market areas, road side footpaths etc. Without sest belt impose fines but road encroachment vendors they can stop
