Jamshedpur : As part of its next agitation, JMM will form human chain in protest against shabby condition of NH 33.
More than 50,000 party activists would form a human chain for nearly 250 km (distance between Baharagora to Ranchi) and would court arrest as part of the Jail Bharo Andolan and also launch an indefinite blockade.
JMM central spokesperson and Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi, said that the decision to withdraw the blockade was taken last night after State Road Construction Department principal secretary Rajbala Verma aksed the officials to hold talk with JMM leader and Seraikela MLA Champai Soren at Jadugoda.
Around 50,000 JMM supporters will participate in it holding hands in certain stretch of the NH-33 leaving
gap of nearly a kilometer in between thereby defeating the move of a human chain.
A JMM leader said that the human chain symbolises the fact that the demand is not just a political agenda, but a people’s movement.
Jharkhand meets all the eight yardsticks under Gadgil Formula for being considered for the special status.
The party has struggled for the formation of a separate state. Champai Soren expressed concern over the delay in commencement of construction work.
He said the road should be repaired as soon as possible. He demanded that necessary initiatives should be taken to ensure proper repair of the NH between Ranchi and Bahragora, at the earliest.
The activists also demanded better traffic in the city. They said that due to encroachment the shopkeepers are not able to work properly.
He said that encroachment on government and common land and its misuse for monetary gains is fast emerging as an organised crime in the city with certain dominant persons allegedly involved in it.
Despite claims\ by the authorities, larger parts in the city are still under control o several unscrupulous persons.
