Jamshedpur, May 24: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is planning to launch an agitation against the inclusion of 136 villages of Tarai in the Dalma range.
Four JMM MLAs including Chamapi Soren (Seraikela), Deepak Birua (Chaibasa), Kunal Sarangi (Bharagora) and Niral Purty (Majhgaon) addressed villagers at the Asanboni football ground, Kandarbera football ground, Makulakocha, Tengadih, Baghdih, where hundreds of villagers along with members of Dalma�Chetriya�Gram Sabha Suraksha�Manch and JMM members decided to up the ante against the government.
Addressing the gathering, Champai Soren said the central and the state governments led by BJP first displaced villagers of 116 villagers in Chandil and now want to displace the inhabitants of 136 villages from Dalma on the pretext of developing eco-sensitive zone. �
Soren further said that those displaced by the Chandil dam are still suffering. �Kolhan Division comes under the notified area of CNT Act and PESA and to pass any project in this region, the government has to take approval of the Gram Sabha.
Unfortunately, the BJP government has discarded the PESA while displacing the inhabitants of 136 villages,� said Soren. He added, �The BJP government is planning to destroy the people of Jharkhand and JMM will not remain a silent spectator. Instead, the party will launch a mass protest against the move of the state government.� �
Chaibasa MLA Deepak Birua said the central and the state governments want to kill the societal and cultural heritage of Jharkhand. In the name of eco-sensitive zone, displacement of the villagers will not be allowed.
Similarly, Ghatshila MLA Kunal Sarangi said that the state government wants to launch the central government’s anti-people policy in Jharkhand.
JMM leaders Mohan Karmakar, Sukhram Hembram, Laltu Mahato, Suklal Pahadia of Gram Sabha Suraksha Manch and others were present on the occasion. ��
