Ranchi, Apr 14: At the 13th convention of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), held at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi, senior legislator and former Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi presented the party’s political resolution.

Marandi emphasized that JMM strongly supports a nationwide caste census and has demanded 27% reservation for the OBC community. The party also reiterated its long-standing demand for the implementation of the 1932-based domicile policy.

Highlighting other key points of the resolution, Marandi stated, “The party firmly opposes the proposed amendments to the Waqf Act, considering it an attack on the rights of minorities.” He added that the party is also against the current format of delimitation and wants changes to favor local representation.

Additionally, the resolution called for 75% reservation for local youth in the private sector and the official recognition of the Sarna Dharma Code by the Indian Parliament.
