Jamshedpur, Oct 7: Following the departure of former Chief Minister Champai Soren to the BJP, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has shifted its focus and consolidated its strength in Kolhan. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has made five visits to the region, addressing rallies and reinforcing party unity among supporters and workers. His efforts aim to secure Kolhan in the upcoming elections, with a particular focus on key areas such as Gamharia, Chaibasa, Ghatshila, Dobo, and Baliguma.

During his visits, Hemant Soren has launched development projects and continuously questioned what the BJP has contributed to the region, rallying public support by highlighting the achievements of his government. His wife, Kalpana Soren, has also played a significant role, boosting the morale of JMM workers through the Mainyaan Samman Yatra, which aims to solidify the party’s vote bank.

The BJP, which currently holds no seats in Kolhan, faces a challenge from the JMM, as it seeks to maintain its stronghold in the region. The departure of Champai Soren to the BJP has led to a political vacuum, with JMM leaders previously overshadowed by him now stepping up their efforts for the party.

Responding to Hemant Soren’s visits, Champai Soren downplayed the significance, stating that as Chief Minister, Hemant has the right to visit any region as many times as he wishes, adding that the public is observing everything.
