Jamshedpur, Nov 20: The JMM camp heaved a sigh of relief as Sukhram Oraon whose candidature application papers were put on hold on Tuesday, November 19 by the Chakradharpur constituency�s Electoral Officer-cum-SDO Pradip Prasad and was given time until Wednesday, November 20 by 11 am to provide necessary details pertaining two court proceedings against him, was cleared today for contesting the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections- �19.
It may be mentioned here that Sukhram Oraon had given the necessary information about one court case against him while tendering his nomination forms. But his application was put on hold by the Electoral Officer during scrutiny because the details pertaining to another court case had not been furnished by the JMM candidate.
Sukhram Oraon and his lawyer reached the Electoral Officer-cum-SDO Pradip Prasad�s office well in advance of the appointed time of 11 am today and presented his matter before the official that included an hour long discussion away from media glare. He was asked to wait for half an hour for the final decision.
Emerging from the Chakradharpur constituency�s Electoral Officer�s office, Sukhram Oraon informed media persons waiting outside that he had provided the details asked for today. A while later the information came that Sukhram�s application as a candidate to contest the Assembly elections from Chakradharpur had been cleared and that the symbol will be given to him the following day, Thursday, November 21.
