Jamshedpur: A dispute emerged over the removal of 140 security guards who had been deployed at SBI ATMs for the past two decades. The guards were recently disengaged by WWSO Enterprises Ltd., the newly appointed agency, triggering protests and demands for reinstatement.

A delegation of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders, including Pramod Lal, Sheikh Badruddin and Mahavir Murmu, met the Deputy Commissioner and demanded immediate reinstatement of the affected workers.

The guards alleged irregularities, stating that they were being made to work 30 days a month but paid wages for only 26 days. They also claimed that their Provident Fund contributions had not been deposited for the last 15 months, raising concerns of financial exploitation.

The JMM delegation urged the administration to ensure recovery of pending PF dues and reinstate all 140 guards under the new agency. The Deputy Commissioner assured that eligible workers would be reinstated and their grievances addressed appropriately.

Several local leaders and workers were present during the meeting, expressing solidarity with the affected guards and demanding swift action from authorities.
