JMM candidate Somesh Soren pays tribute at Nirmal Mahto Samadhi in Jamshedpur Ahead of Ghatshila by-election

Jamshedpur, Oct 15: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has officially announced Somesh Soren as its candidate for the upcoming Ghatshila Assembly by-election, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among party workers and supporters across the region.

Immediately following the announcement, Somesh Soren visited the samadhi (memorial) of martyr Nirmal Mahto to pay his respects. He was accompanied by JMM MLA Sabita Mahato, senior leaders Mohan Karmakar, Raju Giri, former MP Suman Mahato and several party officials and workers.

At the memorial, Somesh expressed, “This ticket is a symbol of the trust of both the people and the party. I am committed to carrying forward the ideals of my late father, Ramdas Soren and the spirit of the Jharkhand movement. This election is not fought by me alone, it is fought by the people of Ghatshila. I will strive relentlessly to complete my father’s unfinished work and ensure holistic development of the region.”

His mother, Surajmani Soren, added that she trusts the people of Ghatshila will bless her son and continue supporting the region’s development.

JMM leaders described Somesh as a young, energetic and people-centric leader, emphasizing that the ticket represents both the party’s policies and public confidence. Following the announcement, party workers have mobilized to engage with citizens door-to-door, consolidate support and finalize campaign preparations.

The start of Somesh Soren’s electoral journey has infused renewed energy and optimism within the party, creating a vibrant political atmosphere in Ghatshila and signaling increased public participation in the upcoming by-election.
