Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Human Rights Conference president Manoj Mishra on Wednesday demanded a probe into the alleged scam in the pulse polio vaccination programme in East Singhbhum. He alleged that several crores were siphoned off by the accused persons in the name of running the pulse polio vaccination programme.
In a statement issued today, Mishra said the teams of health department had failed to visit many places in the last five years. The health officials claim the success of pulse polio campaign on paper. But in reality, many households were left out during the campaign. The pulse polio oral drops are to be administered on a door to door basis. But this was not done at many places. No cross checking is done by the senior authorities. A high-level probe should be conducted to identify and punish those involved in this huge scam.
