Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Human Rights Conference (JHRC) has demanded resignation of the state health minister of Jharkhand for failing to improve the condition of MGM Hospital.
Addressing a meeting of the outfit near Howrah Bridge, Sakchi, the outfit president Manoj Mishra said hundreds of patients of the government hospital are devoid of proper treatment facilities. Lack of facilities amounts to violation of human rights of the patients, said Mishra.
Mishra said the health scenario of the state was deplorable since the powers-that-be were least bothered about its improvement. Newborns are dying and patients are reeling under scarcity of resources.
The JHRC president announced to launch a public campaign to remove the health minister from 14th February onwards.
Those present at the meeting included SL Das, Renu Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Sudeshna Haldar, Anima Das, Jagannath Mohanty, DN Sharma, Harish Chandra, Rajesh and Durgesh Nandi.
