Jharkhand�s people cooperative and friendly: Vidya Balan

Ranchi, Apr 8: Bollywood actress Vidya Balan today said Jharkhand government would move ahead with full momentum. She said the state government has extended full cooperation to the film�s production.

Talking to reporters at the Soochana Bhawan here she said her upcoming film Begum Jaan was a story of 11 women who do not want to leave their homes and are willing to go to any extent to save their homes.

‘It was a unique story and I was fortunate that I got an opportunity to work in the film,� she said, adding that the movie was made in Bangla first and now it was being remade in Hindi.

Balan said most of the shooting of the film took place in Dumka and she still misses Patjor where the sets were erected. She said the friendly attitude and cooperation of the people ensured that the film was shot in a better environment.

Veteran Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt said the government has added life to the state through Momentum Jharkhand. He also lauded the Chief Minister for his cooperation in film production. He said a better environment for film making has been prepared in the state due to which it manage to get the special mention award in the most friendly state award category during the 64th National Film Awards which was a matter of great pride.

Director Shreejet said Jharkhand gave a better opportunity to him and his team to work and hoped that Begum Jaan would be high quality film. He said the state government provided security, technical expertise and economic help and also a better environment and location. He said film policy of the state was better and if get an opportunity his unit would love to come and shoot in the state.

IPRD Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar said that he said the mainline cinema was shot here.

The government too has been part of the film which is going to release on April 14.

He said Vidya Balan has been associated with various social initiatives and has been working for the upliftment of women and creating awareness regarding sanitation and cleanliness.
