Dhanbad, April 18: Jharkhand’s national junior badminton player Aadya Singh has qualified for National Defence Academy (NDA).
In the NDA examination ( Navy) Aadya Singh of Jamshedpur has got 136th rank in the country and 15th in women’s section. She has also achieved distinction of to first girl of Jharkhand to qualify in prestigious competition which opened the girls in 2022.
Ravi Singh, former treasurer of Jharkhand Badminton Association and maternal uncle of Aadya Singh, said that though she had been excelling in badminton event at state and national level from childhood, her aim was to pursue career in defence and medical line and finally she achieve her goal.
Adya Singh ,resident of Aditapur ( Jamshedpur), is famous across the Jharkhand for her natural talent in badminton and outstanding performance in state as well as national levels competitions.
Champion of Jharkhand
Aadya Singh remained a dominance force in Jharkhand junior badminton till 2022 when she hanged her racket due to political reason in state badminton.
She was under- 17 and under-19 singles and doubles girls state champion held in Dhanbad in 2021. Later she repeated her performance again state championship by winning both the titles held at Mohan Ahuja Stadium Jamshedpur in 2022.
However in Dumka state championship Adya had to content with runners up position. She lost singles final to her doubles partner Saraah Sharma of Jamshedpur. Adya Singh represented Jharkhand junior team in several national championship.
Badminton experts of Jharkhand said she was most natural talent playerand would have been reached international stage had been she continued playing badminton. After winning state junior championship, Adya shifted Lucknow for preparation of NDA.
