Jharkhand’s Hemant Government to give relief of Rs 25 per litre on petrol for poor, middle class two-wheeler users

1454 schemes worth Rs 17,222.02 Cr foundation stones laid, inaugurated to mark 2nd anniversary of government 

Student Credit Card, Kisan Pathshala, Tourism policy, 1000 day campaign against malnutrition major announcements 

Ranchi, Dec 29: Chief minister Hemant Soren while laying foundation and inaugurating 1454 schemes worth Rs  17,222.02 crore to mark the second anniversary of the JMM-led UPA government in Jharkhand announced a major relief for poor and lower middle class affected by fuel price rise.

Speaking at a grand function organised at Morhabadi ground in Ranchi, Hemant Soren said that from January 26 onward, poor and lower middle class persons using two-wheelers will get a relief of Rs 25 per litre of petrol.

“The prices of petrol and diesel are touching the sky. This has had a bad effect on the poor and middle class families. A poor person, having a motorcycle in the house, is unable to drive it due to lack of money and is unable to go to the market to sell his crop. Therefore, government has decided that if such ration card holders fill petrol in their motorcycle or scooter, then at the rate of Rs 25 per liter, the amount will be transferred to their bank account. This system is going to be implemented from 26 January next year. A poor family can get this amount up to 10 liters of petrol per month,” announced Soren.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to implement the Students Credit Card scheme for the students of the state. He said that soon the students of the state would get the benefit of this scheme. Lack of money will never become a hindrance to them for their education. Students’ credit scheme will make their dreams of better education come true with soft loans for higher studies at cheap rate of interest.

“ Many people gave their martyrdom in the movement for this state. Our government is giving pension to such agitators and their dependents with respect. Now they will get 5 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister said that 100 percent scholarship is being given to Scheduled Tribe students for higher education abroad.

“Now the state government is also working towards expanding the scope of this scholarship scheme. Promising students of other classes will also be linked to the scholarship scheme for higher education abroad,” chief minister said.

The Chief Minister said that there has been a demand for the implementation of Old Pension Scheme for a long time by the employees of the State Government. The government is considering their demand and  a decision will be taken soon after taking legal opinion.

He also said that thousands of contract workers are employed in many departments of the state. They keep agitating continuously for their demands and problems. Their demands are in the notice of the government. But, the problems will not be solved by agitations and dharna demonstrations and asked them to come for discussion and find amicable solution as happened for para-teachers.

The Chief Minister said that the poor students of the state should also get better and quality education, the government is working continuously in this direction.

For this reason, the government has decided to start education on the lines of private schools in many government schools from the next session. Here all the necessary and basic facilities related to education will be available to the students.

The Chief Minister said that 28-30 schemes have been implemented by the government in the last two years and said that Apke Adhikar, Apki Sarkar, Apke Dwar (government at your doorstep) campaign government department reaching doorstep of villagers in remote villages and panchayats to solve their problems and linked them to welfare schemes of government.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand state is generally recognized for its mineral resources. But, there is a lot of potential here in many other sectors including tourism and sports. In such a situation, a new tourism policy has been made to develop the tourist places of the state. Basic facilities are being arranged at tourist places. At the same time, the government has made many policies for sports and players as well. Players are being recruited directly and various competitions are being organized continuously along with training to bring out sports talent.

The Chief Minister said that the government is making many schemes in the interest of the people of the state. For how these schemes are successfully implemented, it is very important to have the provision of resources. Keeping this in mind, our government is making constant efforts to increase internal resources.

The government is constantly trying to increase the income of the farmers of the state. Integrated Birsa Gram Vikas Yojana cum Kisan Pathshala was launched for this at the state level function today. In the first phase, 17 Kisan Pathshalas will be opened, while there is a plan to increase its number to 100 in the coming three years.

 The government’s special priority is to get women out of the problem of anemia and children from the problem of malnutrition. In this context, the Chief Minister announced today to start a 1000 special SAAMAR campaign.

An MoU was signed today between the Labor Department and HCL Technology for imparting IT training to 12th pass students in the state. Under this, the inter pass students here will be linked to the placement linked training program by the HCL company and placement will also be arranged.

A tripartite agreement was signed between the Forest Department, the Welfare Department and the Indian School of Business today. This will facilitate in providing commercial market to the forest produce here.

Chief Minister announced the implementation of Journalist Health Insurance Scheme for the journalists of the state. Under this scheme, they will get an insurance cover of up to five lakh rupees. Along with media persons, their families will also get the benefit of this scheme.

Apart from inauguration and foundation stone laying the program saw assets worth Rs 1493.38 Crore distributed among the beneficiaries. At the same time, many newly selected candidates were given appointment letters by the Chief Minister.

Governor hails Government efforts at welfare of masses 

Governor Ramesh Bais said that in a democracy, the public interest is paramount.

“The goal of the government should be that it should live up to the expectations and aspirations of the people and I am happy that the Jharkhand government has been largely successful in achieving it,” said Bais.

Congratulating the Chief Minister on the second anniversary, he said that the government is continuously making efforts for the welfare of the general public. He appreciated the work done by the government during the Corona period. Rajpal expressed happiness over the efforts being made by the government in the fields of education, health and education. He called the program ‘Aapki Adhikar Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’, which was run to ensure public participation in governance, as an effective step. Governor expressed hope that this government will continue to work in the interest of all sections and sections of the society in future also.

“The resolve of the government is to work for the development of every section of the society by following the principles of “growth with justice”. The government is committed to uphold the “rule of law”.
I am happy that the government has adopted a policy of vigilance from day one and took all possible steps to deal with the corona epidemic. The government is very sensitive towards the safety and health of its citizens and is doing better work in the field of health. The government is constantly striving for the all-round development of Jharkhand. The benefits of government schemes are being given without any discrimination. The government has launched the Sarvajan Pension Yojana, which is an important step in the discharge of welfare obligations,” said the Governor. 


“The government has declared the year 2021 as the year of appointment. Various examination manuals have been amended as per the requirement so that the difficulties being faced in the recruitment process can be removed and the eligible youth can get employment in the government sector. I hope that the state government will play an important role in the socio-economic development of the people by working successfully in the direction of education, health, rural development, women empowerment and women’s respect,” said Governor.

Appreciating the new tourism policy, Governor said, “There is immense potential for tourism in the state of Jharkhand. Nature has provided many attractive tourist places as a boon to the state. The beautiful waterfalls, forests, reservoirs and picturesque views here attract tourists from all over the country and abroad. All you need is some grooming and development. Tourism is one such sector which can play an important role in providing employment to the youth in the state. The revenue of the government will also increase with the development of tourism. Keeping these things in mind, the government has implemented Tourism Policy, 2021 with the aim of developing tourism in the state and increasing the participation of private sector in this work.”
