Bus services for inter-district and in city to start, prohibition continue for inter-state bus services
Weekend lockdown to continue, halls can open with maximum attendance of 50 persons
Ranchi, June 23:Shops and malls in Jamshedpur can now open till 8 pm and be closed on Sunday while educational institutions will remain to be closed till July 8 morning.
However, in a major reprieve for cinema halls owners and restaurants, the government has allowed opening of multiplex, cinema halls and restaurants with 50 per cent of the capacity. Banquet halls and community halls can also open with restriction on more than 50 persons at any point of time.
In another significant decision, the government has allowed opening of stadiums, gymnasiums and parks from July 1. There will be prohibition on gathering of more than 50 persons at one place.
The inter-district bus services has also been allowed from July 1, though prohibition will continue on plying of inter-state buses. Entrance examinations allowed by Union government can be held however exams to be held by state government will continue to be postponed.
There will be no requirement of e-passes for plying between one district to another in the state.
The Jharkhand government has extended the lockdown-like restrictions till July 8, as per an official notification. This is the eighth time that the COVID-related curbs, first imposed in the state on April 22 for a week, were extended. The ongoing measures were scheduled to end on July 1 morning.
E-passes will remain mandatory for inter-state movement in private vehicles but for movement within a district, no e-passes will be required. Religious places will remain closed and so will be the educational institutions.
The decision was made at a meeting of the state disaster management authority, chaired by the chief minister Hemant Soren.
“The provisions…Related to observance of Swasthya Suraksha Saptah in the context of Covid-19 shall stand extended from 6 am on July 1 till 6 am on July 8, 2021,” the notification issued by the state disaster management department said.
The order was signed by Jharkhand chief secretary Sukhdev Singh.
“We have taken the decision to extend the Health Safety Week for another week as we are not out of danger and there is a possibility of a third wave,” Chief Minister Hemant Soren said.
Last week, some relaxations were announced, including the opening of shopping malls and departmental stores till 4 pm.
On June 24, the state government had extended the lockdown till July 1 with some relaxations, including opening of shopping malls and departmental stores till 4 PM. Earlier, only shops were allowed to operate till 4 PM and not the shopping malls and departmental stores.
During the weekend lockdown from Saturday 8 pm, companies and factories and even warehouses will remain operational. There will be no restriction on movement of people too. However, during weekend lockdown milk shops can function along with fuel retail outlets and warehouses.
