Dubai: In a historic turn of events, three cricket prodigies hailing from Jharkhand emerged as millionaires in the recently concluded mini auction for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Kumar Kushagra, Robin Minz, and Sushant Mishra captured the spotlight as they secured lucrative deals with prominent IPL franchises.
The 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra, hailing from Bokaro, Jharkhand, became the center of a bidding war ultimately won by Delhi Capitals. The franchise, led by spirited bidding, secured the young talent for a whopping INR 7.20 crore. This marked a significant milestone for the budding cricketer as Delhi Capitals invested heavily in his potential.

Gujarat Titans made strategic moves in the auction, securing two promising players from Jharkhand – Robin Minz and Sushant Mishra.
Robin Minz, the first tribal cricketer from Jharkhand, attracted bids from multiple teams, including Chennai and Mumbai. The wicketkeeper-batsman, expressing admiration for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, found a new home with the Gujarat Titans, who sealed the deal at INR 3.60 crore. Minz, known for his cricketing prowess developed in Gumla district, is set to make waves in the upcoming IPL season.

Sushant Mishra, a young and uncapped left-arm fast bowler from Ranchi, also hit the jackpot as Gujarat Titans secured his services for INR 2 crore 20 lakh. Despite his base price being a modest INR 20 lakh, Mishra’s impressive skills garnered substantial attention, making him a millionaire in the IPL auction. Notably, Sushant Mishra is associated with the South Eastern Railway.
The entire auction, conducted for the first time outside India in Dubai, witnessed a flurry of high-stake bids, showcasing the immense value placed on the emerging cricketing talents from Jharkhand.
