Jamshedpur: Jharkhand witnessed another spell of clear and dry weather on Wednesday, even as a Western Disturbance moved across northern India.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the disturbance currently appears as a trough in the middle tropospheric westerlies, positioned around 5.8 km above mean sea level along longitude 81°E, north of latitude 23°N.
The system had minimal impact on the state, allowing stable and cloud-free conditions to prevail throughout the day. The ongoing dry spell led to intensified night cooling, with the lowest minimum temperature of 5.3°C recorded at Gumla Aromatic Weather Station, marking one of the season’s coldest readings.
Early mornings remained chilly, while afternoons turned mild and comfortable under bright sunshine. The warmest daytime reading was reported from Chaibasa, where the maximum temperature rose to 27.8°C, reflecting the typical winter contrast between cold nights and warmer days.
With the Western Disturbance confined to higher latitudes, the IMD does not anticipate any significant weather activity in Jharkhand over the next few days. The pattern of cold nights and pleasant days is expected to continue as winter conditions strengthen.
