Jharkhand to get its first Vande Bharat Express on June 12

Ranchi, June 10: In a significant development for rail connectivity in Jharkhand, the highly anticipated Vande Bharat Express is set to commence operations between Ranchi and Patna. A trial run of the train has been scheduled for June 12, with the regular service expected to begin soon thereafter. The commencement of this service is poised to bring a boost to the region’s transportation network.

The trial run holds great significance, and the success of this operation will mark a major milestone in the launch of the Vande Bharat Express on the Ranchi-Patna route. To commemorate this momentous occasion, a grand inauguration ceremony is being planned, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to inaugurate the service by waving the green flag. Rajendra Nagar Patna has been selected as the location for the inauguration, as the East Central Railway has been entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the train.

Preparations for speed trial completed

Preparations for the speed trial have been completed, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) Nishant Kumar of Ranchi Railway. The Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express will undergo speed trials starting from June 12. Originally scheduled for June 11, the speed trial date was shifted by a day in light of a Jharkhand bandh (strike) on June 11. The decision to extend the trial run by a day was made to ensure the safety and security of the operation.

Travel time to reduce significantly

The Vande Bharat Express will significantly reduce travel time between Patna and Ranchi, covering the distance in just six to six and a half hours. The train is expected to leave Patna at 06.55 am, arriving at Barkakana railway station at 11.30 am. After a brief halt, the train will depart Barkakana at 11.35 am and reach Ranchi at 1.00 pm. The return journey from Ranchi will commence at 2.20 pm, reaching Barkakana at 3.30 pm, and departing at 3.35 pm. Finally, the train will arrive in Patna at 8.25 pm.

The Vande Bharat train will traverse the newly constructed rail lines connecting Hazaribagh-Barkakana, Sindhwar-Sanki-Tatisilwe, and Ranchi. With a speed of approximately 160 kilometers per hour, the train aims to provide a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers. The train boasts eight air-conditioned chair cars, each equipped with a GPS-based information system and four emergency push buttons for enhanced safety. The commencement of operations for the Vande Bharat Express on the Ranchi-Patna route signifies a major stride in the development of the region’s rail infrastructure. Passengers can now look forward to a faster and more convenient mode of transportation between the two cities.
