Ranchi, May 7: The Jharkhand State Kabaddi Association on Wednesday sent its boys and girls teams to Vidarbha, Maharashtra, to participate in the 51st National Junior Boys and Girls Kabaddi Championship. The teams departed from Tatanagar Railway Station, accompanied by six officials.
Before their departure, East Singhbhum District Kabaddi Association President M.P. Singh met the players and extended his best wishes for their success in the tournament.
The girls’ team is captained by SnehaThapa (Ranchi) and includes Srishti Singh (Dhanbad), Muskan Gupta (Dhanbad), Rekha Mahato (Bokaro), Saloni Rana (Bokaro), Neha Oraon (Gumla), Rukmani Kumari (Khunti), Pooja Mahato (Giridih), Saloni Kumari (Gumla), Reena Dhan (Ranchi), Komal Oraon (Ranchi) and Radhika Oraon. The team is coached by Lakshmi Kumari and managed by Divyansh Kumar.
The boys’ team is led by Saurabh Kumar (Ranchi) as captain and Ashok Sirka (West Singhbhum) as vice-captain. Other players include Ankit Yadav (Ranchi), Sujal Keshari (Ranchi), Irfan Alam (Garhwa), Hariom Singh (Garhwa), Ujjwal Pathak (West Singhbhum), Rishabh Kumar (East Singhbhum), Yadresh Kumar (Gumla), Chandan Kumar (Godda), Vivek Kumar (Dhanbad) and Pintu Mahato (Brahmarishi Dhanbad). The team’s coach is Shiv Sagar and the manager is Kunal Kushwaha.
Officials accompanying the teams include Tilak Ram Sahu (East Singhbhum), Mintu Thakur (Dhanbad), Manoj Sharma (Bokaro), Rohit Sharma (Ranchi), Shiv Mahato (Khunti), Harish Kumar and Tapan Rawat.
Jharkhand Kabaddi Association General Secretary Sanjay Kumar Jha said the teams were selected by experienced coaches and expressed confidence in the players’ performance at the national level.
