Jharkhand sub junior Chess: Shaswata and Aditi crowned champions

Jamshedpur: Shaswata Paul of West Singhbhum and Aditi Raj of Ranchi emerged Jharkhand state sub junior (under-15) chess champions in the open and girls category.

The championship played at Sarala Birla University Campus in Ranchi saw Shaswata score 6.5 points leaving Balkrishn Verma and Ishant Verma of Dhanbad to 2nd and 3rd position, both got 5.5 points. The other two prizes were won by the East Singhbhum District Chess Association boys Kumar Utkarsh and Aman Kumar scored 5.5 points but had inferior tie break.

In the Girls Section Ranchi�s Aditi Raj won the 2nd state level championship within three weeks. Earlier she won Under-17 category in the month of May. Yamijala Koulini of ESDCA fell half a point less to satisfy herself with 4.5 points. The third and fourth birth to National went to Kaushika Kumari of Saraikela Kharsawan and Dyuti Chakraborty of ESDCA. The fifth cash prize was won by Sneha Verma of Dhanbad.
