Jharkhand State Bar Council Polls: 100 Candidates in Fray, Campaigning Intensifies

Jamshedpur: The election to the Jharkhand State Bar Council is scheduled to be held on March 12. As of today, February 17, no candidate has withdrawn from the contest, leaving a total of 100 candidates in the fray.

Among them, 12 candidates are from the Jamshedpur District Bar Association, including nine men and three women. With the final list intact, campaigning has intensified across districts, with candidates actively reaching out to members of the legal fraternity.

In this connection, the incumbent Vice-Chairman of the Jharkhand State Bar Council, Rajesh Kumar Shukla, visited the Jamshedpur Commercial Tax Bar Association and interacted with advocates.

During the meeting, he held discussions with senior advocate and Co-Chairman Khajanchi Lal Mittal, former Vice-President Satish Singh, Advocate Satyanarayan Singh, and several other members of the association.

The deliberations primarily focused on issues concerning advocates’ welfare, effective implementation of the Advocates’ Protection Act, the functioning of the Trustee Committee and Pension Committee, and measures to ensure the holistic development of advocates in the state.

Former Executive Member of the Jamshedpur District Bar Association, Advocate Akshay Kumar Jha, along with Advocate Mithilesh Singh, appealed to members of the Bar to actively participate in the forthcoming election to strengthen welfare initiatives and uphold the interests of the legal community.
