Jamshedpur: Jharkhand was among the six states selected for Light House Project at the two day Global Housing Technology Challenge in the form of Construction Technology India Expo � 2019 held at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. During his Expo inspection Prime minister Narendra Modi also visited the Jharkhand pavilion where he saw the 3D model of Birsanagar Housing Project.
The Expo was attended by state representatives as also by many house construction specialists from various other countries. It was under GHTC that the Expo was organized to facilitate quick construction of qualitative houses for the homeless. This was a novel event organized by the Government of India.

The ministry for Housing and urban Services, Government of India conducted a contest among 18 states based on important aspects. Jharkhand along with Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh was selected for the Light Housing Project or Pilot Project.
Ranchi in Jharkhand along with one city each in the selected states would see housing projects after experiments, research and discussions in order to meet the growing housing demands timely.
The Prime Minister announced the names of the selected states for the Pilot Project. The proposal for Jharkhand�s Light Housing Project was presented by the Assistant Director of Urban Directorate Sanjay Kumar. Government of India�s Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra congratulated Jharkhand and the other five states for being selected for the Pilot Project.
Union Minister for Central Housing and Urban Services Hardip Singh Puri, Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, Joint Secretary Amrit Abhijat, state officials, researchers, students along with Jharkhand Director Urban Administration Directorate Rajiv Ranjan, Assistant Director Sanjay Kumar Pandey, PMAY officer Rajan Kumar, Mukesh Jha, Abhishek Bharadwaj, Kalyani Pampana and Sanjay Paswan were present on the occasion.
