Ranchi: Jharkhand continued their dominant run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, claiming their seventh consecutive victory by defeating Rajasthan by 36 runs in a Group match held at Narendra Modi Stadium (Ground A), Ahmedabad. With this win, Jharkhand remains firmly on top of the points table and has qualified for the next round.
Impressive Batting Display
Batting first, Jharkhand posted an impressive total of 215 for 5 in 20 overs. Virat Singh played a stellar knock of 69 runs off just 36 balls, hitting powerful boundaries throughout his innings. Captain Kumar Kushagra added stability with a well-made 55 off 37 deliveries. Robin Minj accelerated the scoring towards the end with a quickfire 58 off 27 balls, helping the team cross the 200-run mark.
Rajasthan Fall Short
In reply, Rajasthan were bowled out for 179 runs in 19.2 overs. Karan Lamba top-scored with 52, while Deepak Hooda contributed 28 runs, but wickets fell at regular intervals, preventing them from staying in the chase.
Sushant Mishra and Anukul Roy delivered excellent spells, taking three wickets each to seal the match for Jharkhand.
Virat Singh was awarded Player of the Match for his explosive and match-winning knock.
