Jharkhand records highest ever single-day spike with 206 corona cases, tally upto 1349

Jamshedpur/ Ranchi, June 8: As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc the world over, Jharkhand� also recorded the highest ever single-day spike with 206 COVID-19� cases on Monday, June 8. Total tally in the state stands at 1349 till the filing of this report. Cases in Jamshedpur is nearing 200 with four cases added on Monday. The persons were in institutional quarantine and have been admitted to TMH COVID-19 ward. Other positive cases in Jharkhand were reported from Chatra 17 positive cases, Deoghar 5, Dhanbad 19, Jamshedpur 4, Giridih 11, Gumla 18, Hazaribagh 3, Garhwa 5, Jamtara 18, Khunti 3, Latehar 14, Lohardaga 13, Pakur 12, Ramgarh 2 ahnd Simdega 59. If the 1349 cases in Jharkhand, 519 have recovered while 823 active cases are still there in the state.

Most of the positives reported on Monday are migrants who have returned from other states. Jamshedpur which has been leading with the most corona cases in the state saw some good news coming it’s way on Monday when 8 patients defeated Coronavirus and were discharged from the hospital. Of the 8 recovered, 2 are from Govindpur, 1 each from Mousabani, Telco, Haldipokhar, Golmuri, Chakulia and Dhalbhumgarh. Earlier on Sunday 113 cases were reported in Jharkhand.�

The highest number of 113 cases were found on Sunday, on Friday and Saturday, 93 and 91 positive cases were reported, respectively. In three days, 296 new cases have been reported.The number of cases in the state was 521 on May 31 and by June 8, it has gone up to 1,349, according to state health ministry data.The migrant labourers who returned over the last one month, 820 have contributed to the state tally.Till June 7, a total 87,721 people have been tested for coronavirus. The average positive test in every 100 test is 2.3 in June.East Singhbhum has become the new hot spot in the state with� 154 active cases.
Sahebganj has become the 24th district in the state to be infected with COVID-19 virus. Three active cases are there in Sahebganj. Most of the corona positives are migrant workers. Most of the positives in East Singhbhum have travel history and have returned from other states.
Earlier, two intern doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were found to be Covid-19 positive, health officials said, adding that they had a recent travel history.
East Singhbhum district accounts for 183 cases respectively out of a total of 1349.
A total of 5,415 people, who returned to the state recently, are under surveillance and asymptomatic, while 4,084 have completed the 28-day observation period.
While 91,765 people are in various quarantine centres, 2,91,828 people are in home quarantine, the bulletin said.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
